Perennial herbs; bulbs ovoid, 0.4–1.2 cm in diameter, tunics brownish, papery, densely villous-woolly inside. Stems usually simple, 15–40 cm, slender, glabrous. Leaves 2, opposite, linear, adaxially middle grayish white with remaining green, 15–45 cm long, 0.4–1 cm wide, entire. Bracts usually three, whorled, linear, green or purple, 1.4–3.2 cm long,under the flower 1–1.5 cm. Flowers solitary, funnel-shaped; tepals 6, white, with a deep green or yellowish-green blotch at the very base inside, white or purple-red on the back, outer tepals lanceolate, acute, 1.5–3.5 cm long, 0.3–0.6 cm wide, inner tepals a little smaller. Stamens 6, two-wheeled, the inner three slightly longer than the outer; anthers, purplish-brown, 0.4–0.6 cm long. Filaments, yellowish-green, 0.5–0.7 cm long. Oval ovaries, yellowish-green, 0.5–0.8 cm long, styles 0.4–1 cm long. Capsule subglobose, triquetrous, 0.8–1.5 cm in diam, apex long beaked, 0.5–1 cm long.
